New Year's Resolutions

As part of my year-and-a-day learning, I figured I'd find a resolution this new year that I could actually strive towards: better health through naturalizing my life.  There's a lot this resolution can entail, but I am starting out by starting my grocery shopping with my partner in crime (my friend, Amanda) at farmer's markets, buying organic when it comes to those dirty dozen foods I linked to in an earlier post, making some of my own home supplies like cleaners, and learning the "cheap tricks" that you can use at home (like using vinegar as a fabric softener).

I'm also moving towards more homemade meals, cooking/baking more, getting to know my way around a good healthy kitchen, and adding to my very own family cookbook.  Who doesn't love a warm, home-made baked good every now and then?

I also want to start writing more about my faith, especially where it's going and what kinds of things I'm learning. I think even within this year-and-a-day journey I've kind of let my spirituality be put on the back burner.  I know I can't learn everything there is to know in a year-and-a-day, but I did commit to a year-and-a-day of learning to make sure this is the path for me.  At this time, I'm about 6 months into my commitment and I see no reason for me to abandon my new path, however I still hold the commitment to myself to continue my learning.  I've branched out from simply spirituality into a whole new way of life, and as much as I'm enjoying embracing a new way of life, I can't forget what brought me this far.

I'd like to read a little of the Zohar, and I'd like to learn more stories of the gods and goddesses that are out there.  I want to explore some different pantheons and explore the mythology surrounding them.  I watched a youtube video on Lillith, and although I found it interesting, I'm not going to post it because I found the woman's speech to be too prejudiced for my taste.

Here's to a brand new year, full of opportunity!
